Kym earned her Master’s Degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Argosy University and her Bachelor of Arts degree, with a major in Psychology and a minor in Sociology, from the University of South Florida. Kym completed her internship in an inpatient psychiatric hospital and has since worked in community-based mental health as well as Specialized Therapeutic Foster Care. She is also a member of the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy (AAMFT).

Kym is Adoption Certified, and has a great deal of training in working with trauma. While Kym practices with an emphasis on Reality Therapy, she utilizes an integrative approach, frequently utilizing therapeutic art and therapeutic play activities to help children and teens naturally engage in the therapeutic process. Kym is passionate about helping her clients make the changes they desire to make, and overcoming challenges and obstacles in their lives. She believes that the most important component of counseling is the therapeutic relationship; therefore she meets her clients where they are, and works at a pace with which they are most comfortable.

Prior to pursuing her career in Marriage & Family Therapy, Kym was an Elementary School Teacher. Kym truly loves working with children and teens and is dedicated to ensuring a positive experience for each individual she works with.
