Ashley earned her Bachelor's degree in Social Work (BSW) from Eastern Michigan University and a Master of Arts in Counselor Education (MA) with a concentration in School Counseling and Guidance (K-12) from the University of South Florida. Ashley is currently a Licensed Registered Mental Health Counselor Intern (RMHCI) through the State of Florida in pursuit of becoming a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC). Ashley has worked in the mental health field for twelve years in a variety of settings including agency behavioral health, non-profit organizations, school-based mental health counseling, and substance abuse treatment programs. 

Ashley possesses a strong passion to work with children and families by providing a safe, supportive, and empathetic environment to explore and process feelings, thoughts, and actions. She uses a client centered and solution focused counseling approach to help children and families explore concerns, identify goals, and learn constructive tools for improved emotional health to achieve academic and behavioral success. She has over five years of experience developing academic and behavioral accommodation support plans to encourage a collaborative team effort to encourage each student to reach their fullest potential. She guides her clients by using cognitive-behavioral techniques, coping and mindfulness strategies, support for building resiliency, as well as increasing the use of positive social skills.
